Getting Curious with Curious George

Grayson went to visit Curious George at the Children's Museum today. It is so cute when he says the monkey's name, "Cideeous George." On our way to the museum he saw the billboard with C.G.'s photo on it and got all excited. I can't tell you how many times Grayson wanted to sit my C.G. on the bench by the tree as you can see, Grayson loves him. He even gave George a kiss. Grandma went with us today also so that was added fun. There was so much to do in the exhibit. Grayson golfed, opened the elevator, visited the barn, stopped by the park and saw a squirrel and went up the slide just to name a few! I am sure we will get plenty of visits in before George is gone!

We had to go the Play Scape also. A visit would not be a visit without Play Scape! It was a bit busy at the museum today with all the schools but about 12:30 they all cleared out so that was good timing for us! I guess that is where our membership comes in handy!:)

On the way there, we stopped by Marc's work to eat some lunch. Marc found out today that his store will be opening in March ( the new mall in Fishers) and he will be training his staff at the Fisher's location on 116th street. He will move to that store in two weeks to help train 116 to become a training store. From there he will hire and train his staff. We are looking forward to his new store.

This evening I asked Grayson if he wanted any more rice and chicken and his reply was, "probably not." I just laughed and thought to myself, 'Where did he get that?' It's always something new every day! In a good way!:)

I Like Pretzels

Grayson helped himself to some pretzels the other morning for his 10am snack. I walked into the living room and he had dumped them all over the table. He looked so cute, I had to get a photo. Grayson is doing well. We just signed him up for 'Mother's Day Out' for next year so that was exciting. We are going for Thursday so Daddy can take him too in the mornings. He is doing great in his class. He loves going on Fridays and gets excited when we talk about it. Grayson has become very upset with the garbage man. Every time he comes, he cries! He is so afraid the garbage man is going to take his trash cans. I tried explaining to him that the garbage man only wants our trash but he continues to cry any way, poor guy. For those of you who don't know, Marc is back at Qdoba and things are going well. He is working as a GM and helping out until his store opens or they move him some where else. Grayson loves Qdoba so that was a big 'yea' from Grayson.

Grayson got a very special blanket from his Aunt Pam. I had given her Grayson's baby blankets and asked her to make a quilt from them. It turned out so nice! We loves it. Grayson says, "Aunt Pam make!" and points to it on his bed. It fits perfect on his toddler bed that he is still doing so well in! We had the Callaway Christmas at my parents this past Sunday. Grayson was a bit overwhelmed at first from all the people. We do have a huge family. He took a while to warm up. At first he just wanted to sit with Mommy. Them, he made his way upstairs to his room that Grandpa and Grandma have for him. He loves that room. It is a great kids room. He knows it is just for him too. He played with his trains in there and watched some Scooby-Doo and then was ready to take on the down stairs. He latched onto Grandpa and Grandma and then made his way to Uncle Mike and Aunt Sarah and the rest is history.

Well, he just keeps getting bigger every day and I don't like it! We enjoy doing crafts, coloring, reading and playing trains and chasing Macie but the days go by and my baby is no longer a baby. We still get cuddles at nap time and bed time so that will just have to do! He amazes me how he picks out his books and tells you the title of what he has chosen! We are loving every minute with Grayson!

Playing with My Cousins!

Grayson had more fun on Saturday at Grandpa and Grandma's playing with his cousins, Mason and Thoren. Thoren is in 2nd grade and Mason is just 2months older than Grayson. Grayson had never met theme before so he was really looking forward to seeing them! Mason and Thoren's father is my cousin and when him and I were that age, we played together all the time! It was exciting for our children to play together! More wrestling, right up Grayson's alley! We have to watch that though, his teacher told me on Friday that Grayson has been wrestling other students. Luckly, Carson (a boy in his class) was really into it. The girls were not though. Oops!

Anyway, dinner was great as usual! Grandma always has lots of fresh fruit for Grayson. the boys had fun playing with trucks, cars and trains, the usual boy stuff! Grayson likes Grandma's tupper wear cups that are made for salad dressing. He pretends he is making tea for everyone. Mason brought some of his favorites too. The living room became a real wrestling match and chase arena. What more could a boy ask for...right!

Children's Museum with Grandma

Finally, Grayson was able to go to the Children's Museum again now that everyone is back in school. We had to start out the new year on the right foot by making a visit to one of our favorites! Grandma came along too and her and Grayson had lots of fun. He enjoyed showing Grandma all the areas he likes to play and what to do. We just love going there! There is always something new to discover. Curious George will be there starting Jan. 19th. What fun that will be. Grayson just loves that cartoon along with Arthur. I have to admit, Marc and I actually like those two also and look forward to watching the episodes.

Grandma played in the water table with Grayson and the sand table. She sang song with us during music time and danced too! Grayson just had to show Grandma the trains and o-boy does he love the trains! Along the way, we went and saw the dinosaurs also. We can't miss that! It was an adventuresome day that Grandma was able to share with us!

Happy Birthday Pa-Paw!!

Well, it is a new year and a new beginning. We started out the year at Grandma and Grandpa's eating cabbage and corned beef to bring in the new year. The following weekend we celebrated Grandpa's birthday. That was fun! Grayson wanted to blow out all of Grandpa's candles for him and eat his cake. Grayson said, "Want cake!!" and he meant it too! Grayson had fun wrestling with Grandpa and Uncle Mike and playing chase with Aunt Sarah. Grandma made a wonderful meal for everyone! It was nice to spend time with everyone and watch Grayson enjoy every minute of showing off and entertaining for everyone!

Grayson ended the day with a little song on the guitar he likes to call, "I love Rock n' roll and I like ice cream!" and the list of 'I likes' goes on and on. It is a pretty cute little song him and Daddy made up that Grayson actually sings! He's our little rock star!

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Goodnight!

Grayson had such a great Christmas. Him and daddy began by putting out donuts and cookies out for Santa. Grayson also wrote him a letter and left food for his reindeer (puppy chow desert mix). He also left Santa a juice box to wash down the cookies and donuts. While writing the letter, Grayson kept saying, "Ho! Ho! Ho!" Marc and I were so excited to watch Grayson this year opening presents! He couldn't wait to tear into them! He even opened our presents. Santa left Grayson a tool bench. Now him and daddy can drill things and hammer them! Yea! Santa was sure to fill his stocking with lots of goodies, more 'BackYardigan's videos and 'Potty Time With Elmo.' He also got a track to play cars on.

After nap, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner and gift exchanging. Grayson even had a stocking from Santa at their house. It was full of fun stuff too! He got a train whistle, some movies, 'Scooby -Doo' and another train set. Grandpa and Grandma also got Grayson a train table!!! Let me put it bluntly... play train is about the only thing he wants to do at the moment. He makes his rounds everyday playing with all his new gifts.

I hope everyone had a very special Christmas too! Marc and I had another big surprise, Grayson decided he was done with his baby bed. When Grandpa was over watching him the other day, he decided he was going to climb out. We spent the rest of the evening moving stuff and turning his bed into a toddler bed. I am happy to say that the transition has been great. We are so proud of him! He stays in his bed during the evening and nap time and still goes to sleep with no problem. He continues to amaze us. He woke up from his nap today singing Jingle Bells!:)

Today was not a great one, Grayson has gotten another ear infection. Every time he catches a cold from someone and has drainage, he ends up with an ear infection. So I guess we will have to steer clear of any one who knowingly has a cold b/c if he gets another infection he has to go to a specialist:(! We will just have to watch where we go and what we do for a while!

Happy New Year to everyone! Hope this year brings many wonderful surprises!:)

Christmas with The Lyons Family

On Sunday, we headed up to Monticello to celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family! Grayson did pretty good for 2.5 hour trip there and 2.5 hours back! He watched some BackYardigans on the way and Scooby! We had so much fun once we got there! It was a wonderful time! I always looked forward as a child going up to see Wendy and Noreen. They are my cousins that are my age. We had so much fun growing up together! We all have children now so it is really special to see all of our kids together and how much they just love one another. All the kids were so good with Grayson. Grayson wanted to rough house and wrestle with his older boy cousins (Broderick, Braedon and Dane)! He just loved it! He has a soft spot for his cousin Kennedi! His cousin Ashley was there also! Grayson didn't want to leave when it was time to go! And to top off the day, Santa came by for a visit and passed out toys to all the kids! everyone sat on his lap and told him what they wanted. Grayson even sat by him. As you can see, he didn't want his picture taken. He wanted to go back and play with Dane and his trucks! The day couldn't have gotten any better! Everything was so nice! Family, that is what the holidays are all about and remembering who made it all possible!
